State Government Agency Looks to QAT for Software Development Resources

Expert Resources Design Online Grant Administration Application

Client Overview

The client offers two types of grants for organizations within the State to apply. They had an existing online grant web application. This application was not documented and was created by former employees. Broken links, printing, and submission challenges were examples of problems within the system which were in need of attention.

New enhancements were also required for more accurate user and administrator functionality. With recommendations of the client’s upper management, a full re-design and programming of the online tourism and marketing grant application were requested.

The Business Challenge and Solution

The client requested a new online grant web application. The requirement of the new program is a fully managed administrator interface (manage user accounts, grant application content, current grant cycle, duplicate submissions, etc.), along with a fully functioning user interface (create/change account login, save, submit, edit, print, etc).

One extremely important feature is the ability to pull reports used in the reward process for the grant manager, deputy director, and commissioners (these include summary and cover sheets of amounts requested, organization name, etc.). An automated feature of the program that gives users email notification that their grant has successfully been received was also required and an automatic turn-off within the program to stop accepting grants once the administrator-defined “due by” has expired.

The assignment was performed both onsite and remotely. As a longtime service supplier within this space, QAT provided both the right resource, and infrastructure to support client needs either on or offsite, or as in this case, a combination of the two.
