QAT Global Supports the Madonna School as a Silver Sponsor in it’s 11th Annual Golf Fundraiser
QAT Global was a Silver Sponsor for the Madonna School’s 11th annual Golf Fundraiser. This is the fourth year the company has been involved in the event. The charity event was held on May 13, 2013 at Champions Run Golf Course. Brent Hodgen, Recruiter and Human Resources Manager, led QAT Global’s team participation in the event this year and won a custom set of golf clubs in the raffle. This year’s event was a great success with 96 golfers participating and helped the Madonna School raise $123,000 to support their mission
The golf fundraiser is only one of several ways the management and staff at QAT Global help support the Madonna School. Several employees attended the Madonnapolloza event at Anthony’s in April this year, including Chuck Snyder, Ken Bass, Francisco Garcia, and Brent Hodgen. A number of staff members also purchase coffee from the Madonna School.
QAT Global was motivated to support the Madonna School, not only because of their invaluable service to the community, but in support of long time employee Brent Hodgen whose son attends the school.
About the Madonna School
Madonna is an educational organization that serves students and adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities to become as independent as possible. Madonna comprises three elements: a K-12 school serving mildly to moderately disabled children, a Life Skills Transition Program for mildly to moderately disabled 18-21 year olds, and a sheltered workshop for moderately to severely disabled adults. 80% of the budget for the Madonna School comes from donations.
Madonna School encourages optimum performance, develops academic and life skills and establishes self-confidence for cognitively and developmentally disabled students. The curriculum is based on a functional academic approach, i.e. language arts, math and writing and individualized for each student. The students are also taught practical life skills. Physical education, speech-language services and art and music therapy further enhance the total program.
